Houthi Militia Buries 44 Combatants Including 18 Officers in Single Day

The Houthi militia conducted funeral processions on Saturday for 44 of its combatants across several territories under its control, marking the second consecutive day of significant burials for the group.

The latest casualties include a high concentration of military personnel, with 18 individuals holding ranks ranging from second lieutenant to lieutenant colonel. The remaining 26 deceased combatants were listed without specified military ranks. This wave of burials follows a similar event just 24 hours prior, during which the militia held funeral services for 60 other fighters, including additional officers, across provinces such as Sana'a, Amran, Dhamar, Hajjah, and Ibb.

Official media outlets affiliated with the Houthi militia released the names of the deceased, noting that the combatants originated from various governorates, including Saada, Taiz, and Al-Hudaydah. Despite the public acknowledgement of these losses, the militia refrained from disclosing the specific frontlines or the circumstances under which these individuals were killed, adhering to its standard policy of withholding operational details regarding its casualties.

The repeated announcements of mass funeral processions highlight the ongoing attrition within the militia's ranks. These periodic disclosures consistently reveal substantial human losses, involving both rank-and-file fighters and field commanders who have been granted military titles within the organization's structure.
