Yemeni Armed Forces Repel Houthi Attacks in Taiz, Strengthen Positions in Haifan

Yemeni Armed Forces announced early Thursday that they successfully repelled a series of offensives launched by Houthi militias on the Al-Ahkoum front in Taiz Governorate, inflicting significant casualties and destroying enemy weaponry.

The official spokesperson for the Armed Forces, Colonel Majid Al-Nuzaili, stated in a release that government troops thwarted the Houthi assaults, resulting in dozens of militants killed or wounded. The defensive operation successfully halted the militia's advancement, preventing any strategic gains on the ground.

Colonel Al-Nuzaili further noted that government forces effectively cleared pockets of Houthi insurgents who had attempted to infiltrate the Hayjat Al-Abd road. The heavy losses sustained by the militia compelled a swift retreat from the area, neutralizing the immediate threat posed by the attempted incursion.

In addition to securing the Al-Ahkoum front, the military leadership confirmed a widespread deployment of government troops, supported by the Popular Resistance, throughout various positions in the Haifan district. This reinforced presence is part of a broader tactical effort to counter Houthi movements and maintain defensive stability in the region.
