Yemeni Armed Forces Down Houthi Drone Over Jabal Habashi in Taiz

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Thursday that they successfully intercepted and downed a Houthi-operated unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over the Jabal Habashi district in the western province of Taiz.

A military source confirmed that the national air defense units neutralized the hostile drone as it conducted reconnaissance flights over military positions in the Jabal Habashi sector. The interception occurred amidst a significant escalation in hostilities across multiple fronts in the province over the previous 24 hours.

According to the Armed Forces Media Center, government troops engaged in intense clashes with Houthi militants across several key fronts within the Taiz axis. The fighting involved the use of various heavy and medium weaponry, with the most concentrated engagements reported in the Al-Ahthub, Al-Kadaha, Al-Dabab, and Al-Silw regions, as well as the eastern outskirts of Taiz city.

The military source indicated that the recent confrontations resulted in significant personnel losses for the Houthi militia. The province of Taiz remains a primary theater of ongoing conflict between the internationally recognized government forces and the Iran-backed Houthi group, with military operations intensifying across numerous districts in the region.
