Clashes and Airstrikes Inflict Heavy Casualties on Houthi Forces in Taiz

Military officials in Taiz announced on Thursday that 38 Houthi militants were killed or wounded during intense field confrontations and a series of targeted airstrikes across several fronts in the governorate.

The Taiz Military Axis media center reported that the operation, supported by the Popular Resistance, resulted in the destruction of three military vehicles and a 14.5mm heavy machine gun. The casualties occurred over the previous 24 hours as government forces repelled multiple Houthi offensives, particularly in the Sabr fronts, including the outskirts of Kahlan in Al-Masrakh district and the Al-Shaqab area of Sabr Al-Mawadim.

In addition to the ground engagements, the Yemeni Air Force conducted five airstrikes against Houthi positions. Two of these strikes targeted a training camp in the village of Tabasha, located in the Al-Ashaab region west of Taiz, which the military center identified as a facility used by the militia to assemble and prepare fighters for attacks on the city.

Further aerial operations struck Houthi gatherings and military equipment in the Al-Dhabab area, successfully destroying a vehicle carrying a senior Houthi commander. These kinetic operations were complemented by precision artillery fire and drone strikes launched by government forces, which targeted additional weapons caches and assembly points throughout the city's periphery and the northern Asifira front.

Sporadic fighting continued to escalate in various sectors, most notably around Mount Han and the Al-Dhabab district. Military authorities confirmed that the cumulative impact of these coordinated defensive actions has significantly degraded the militia’s operational capacity in the region, dealing a substantial blow to their command structure and logistics.
