Experts expect fuel shortage again in Aden

Economic experts expected the outbreak of a crisis of fuel in Aden as a result of the process of increasing demand in recent days, which came as an extension of the aggravation of the electricity crisis, which has a severe impact on prices in general in the absence of government oversight.

With the increase in the hours of power cuts to eight hours in some residential neighborhoods and streets, and the system being almost completely out of others, the demand for fuel increased significantly in Aden. Economists told Khabar Agency.

The gas station workers said that most of the buyers were shop owners and tourist establishments (hotels, restaurants, etc.), in addition to home owners.

Experts warned of the repercussions of the crisis, especially as the concerned government agencies did not conduct economic studies for this, considering the increased demand necessitated by the mandatory need doubling the amount of consumption, which may dry up the governorate’s share of oil derivatives at an early date and ignite a stifling crisis, the effects of which will affect food prices, transportation fees, and others.
