Taiz Police Arrest Three Suspects in Assassination of Sanitation Fund Director

Police in the city of Taiz arrested three suspects on Saturday evening in connection with the assassination of Aftihan al-Mashahri, the director of the provincial Sanitation Fund. Among those detained is the alleged lookout who tracked the victim's movements ahead of the attack, according to the Taiz Police Security Media Center.

Security forces said they are continuing raids on homes where additional suspects are believed to be hiding and vowed to keep the operation underway "until all perpetrators are brought to justice, without exception."

Al-Mashahri's killing on Thursday drew widespread condemnation and was described by critics as a "field execution," particularly amid reports she had received direct threats from the assailant.
