Man Fatally Stabbed by Second Wife in Ibb Governorate
A local man was killed in his home in the Al-Qaryat area of Ibb Governorate’s Al-Mashannah district after being stabbed by his second wife, marking another tragic incident in a series of rising domestic violence cases in the region.
Local sources identified the victim as Faisal Ahmed Abdo Abdo, noting that a heated dispute broke out between the couple inside their residence. Reports indicate that the wife had concealed a knife in their bedding prior to the altercation, which she used to inflict several wounds upon her husband.
According to witnesses, one of the stabs struck the victim directly in the heart, causing his immediate death. The incident has drawn renewed attention to the deteriorating social stability within areas under Houthi militia control, where criminal activity and domestic violence have seen a marked increase.
Social researchers and observers attribute the surge in domestic crime to a combination of systemic factors, including severe economic decline and the worsening humanitarian crisis. The prolonged conflict, initiated by the Houthi militia, has placed intense pressure on families, leading to significant psychological distress, widespread poverty, and a breakdown in local security.
