Houthi Forces Launch Offensive in Al-Masrakh District Amid Heavy Clashes
Houthi militia forces launched a major military offensive in the Al-Masrakh district on Friday, deploying significant reinforcements in a coordinated attempt to seize strategic positions, including Mount Nabi Dhahih and Husn Kahlan.
The assault involved multiple fronts, with militia forces advancing from Al-Aqroud and Al-Naqil to the west, as well as the villages of Arsh and Al-Mu'ayna to the north, supported by intense artillery fire. Despite the scale of the offensive, resistance forces stationed at Husn Kahlan successfully repelled the initial incursion, inflicting heavy casualties on the attackers.
In a second attempt to regain momentum, the militia launched another wave of attacks at 10:30 a.m., utilizing heavy suppressive fire from Tabat Kurayt and the village of Sanamat. Resistance fighters intercepted the advance, effectively neutralizing the threat and forcing a retreat that left the bodies of three Houthi combatants on the battlefield.
The violent escalation resulted in the death of a resistance fighter, identified as Mohammed Abdul Wahid Al-Kahlani. Additionally, two civilians sustained injuries due to the intense artillery bombardment directed at the village of Kahlan, underscoring the severity of the ongoing military operations in the region.
