Southern Giants Brigades Report Significant Losses Inflicted on Houthi Forces in Lahj

The Southern Giants Brigades announced on Thursday that their forces successfully destroyed four Houthi-affiliated vehicles, neutralized several militants, and intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle in the Lahj governorate’s Kahboub front, near the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait.

The Giants Brigades Media Center released video documentation of the military operations, providing visual evidence of strikes targeting Houthi troop concentrations and logistics. According to the report, a precision strike resulted in the destruction of four vehicles and the death of all personnel on board, while a separate engagement targeting a militant gathering led to the deaths of three additional combatants.

Footage released by the center depicted the aftermath of the strikes, including the scene where militants attempted to recover weaponry from the site following the engagement. The imagery underscored the intensity of the confrontation in the southwestern Yemeni front, which remains a critical point of friction between government-aligned forces and the Houthi militia.

In a separate operation, the Giants Brigades confirmed the interception and neutralization of a Houthi-operated "Rujoom" class drone before it could reach its intended target. Military personnel successfully dismantled the explosive payload carried by the aircraft, preventing potential damage, though officials have not disclosed the specific nature of the drone's target.

The western coastal fronts and the vicinity of the Bab al-Mandab Strait have experienced intermittent escalations between government forces and Houthi insurgents. The militia continues to utilize unmanned aerial systems and projectile weaponry in persistent attempts to strike military positions, maintaining a state of high alert across the region.
