Houthi Militia Abducts Brigadier General Hassan Al-Balili After Storming Home in Sana'a
Local sources in Sana'a reported on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, that Houthi militia forces stormed a residence in the Al-Mahrooqat Street area of central Sana'a and subsequently abducted Brigadier General Hassan Al-Balili.
The operation was reportedly carried out by security and intelligence elements affiliated with the Houthi militia. Brigadier General Al-Balili is identified as the former Director of Transport at the Yemeni Economic Corporation.
Eyewitness accounts indicated that the abduction involved a significant security deployment. The operation utilized five armored vehicles, seven security trucks, and four buses transporting female elements from the Zaynabiyat battalions.
Houthi operatives reportedly surrounded and forcibly entered Al-Balili’s home, located behind Al-Mawaddah Hospital on Al-Mahrooqat Street, before forcibly moving him to an undisclosed location.
