Yemen’s Ministry of Health Condemns Attacks on Medical Facilities in Al-Khokha

The Yemeni Ministry of Public Health and Population has issued a formal condemnation regarding the looting and vandalism of health and humanitarian facilities in Al-Khokha and the Western Coast, warning that such acts severely jeopardize critical medical services for local residents and displaced persons.

In an official statement, the Ministry reported that the targeted facilities, which are supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, have suffered significant damage. Officials emphasized that these hostilities threaten the continuity of essential care, thereby exacerbating the suffering of vulnerable populations, including women, children, and those already displaced by the ongoing conflict.

The Ministry underscored that the impact of these attacks extends beyond physical destruction, effectively depriving thousands of individuals of life-saving medical assistance. It called for the strict neutralization of health facilities and personnel from the conflict, insisting that medical staff, equipment, and pharmaceutical supplies must be protected to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of services.

To address the aftermath of these incidents, the Ministry has instructed relevant authorities to coordinate with the Al-Hudaydah Public Health and Population Office. This directive includes a comprehensive assessment of the damage, documentation of the violations, and an evaluation of the resources required to rehabilitate the affected infrastructure.

Reaffirming its appreciation for the support provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Ministry highlighted that such sabotage directly undermines the resilience of the national healthcare system.
