Escalating Clashes in West Taiz; Houthi Reinforcements Move South

Fighting has intensified in the Al-Barah and Muqbanah fronts in western Taiz governorate, with field sources reporting an escalation in clashes between government forces and Houthi militias. The conflict involves reciprocal artillery shelling and rapid military movements along several axes.

Sources affiliated with the National Resistance stated that artillery fire targeted Houthi positions and gatherings in the Al-Barah, Al-Kump, and Ruṣayān areas. The confrontations, which began at dawn, were accompanied by successive explosions heard around the Al-Barah and Muqbanah fronts, with echoes reaching adjacent regions.

According to local sources, the Houthi militia has deployed military reinforcements to the area in an attempt to breach the front lines. Sources close to the government forces indicated that these attempts were met with resistance, resulting in losses among the Houthi ranks.

Field sources also reported the death of a Houthi commander, identified as Colonel Ali Al-Khawlani, also known as "Abu Rajam." The bodies of several Houthi fighters were reportedly transported to Al-Barah Rural Hospital.

In a related development, field sources observed Houthi militia movements and reinforcements departing from the city of Al-Rāhidah towards the Karsh and Ḥayfān fronts. These reinforcements are said to include heavy military vehicles and equipment.

These developments occur amidst growing tension along the lines of contact in southern and western Taiz. Both government forces and Houthi militias are continuing to reinforce their positions and increase readiness in anticipation of further escalation.
