Houthis Launch Missile and Drone Attacks on Mokha and Marib

The Houthi militia renewed its bombardment of the cities of Mokha and Marib early Tuesday, August 11, 2026, employing ballistic missiles and drones, which instilled fear and panic among residents, particularly women and children.

In the city of Mokha, local sources reported hearing six violent explosions accompanied by drone activity in the area, amidst a tense atmosphere among the populace. Local residents stated that the missiles were launched from mountainous positions near the Bin Laden resort in Ibb Governorate, noting the observation of Houthi elements' movements near Al-Hamza camp.

Similarly, local sources indicated that the Houthi militia targeted residential areas and neighborhoods in Marib city with missiles and drones. Precise information regarding the extent of damage or casualties is not yet available.

The spokesman for the Joint Forces, Brigadier General Wadah Al-Dubaish, stated that initial information suggests a booby-trapped drone originating from the Al-Houban area in Taiz Governorate exploded in a populated village within the Al-Brah axis. Al-Dubaish added that the explosion caused fear and panic among the residents, though the number of casualties or damages remains unclear.

Residents have been urged to remain in their homes, avoid unnecessary movement, stay away from windows, balconies, and open areas, and not approach explosion sites or handle any unidentified objects until official and reliable information is released regarding the developments.
