Yemen Defense Ministry Vows Retaliation Against Houthi Attacks
The Yemeni Ministry of Defense stated on Thursday that the armed forces will respond to the aggression by Houthi militias at an appropriate time and place.
In a statement, the ministry reported that the Houthi militia carried out a treacherous attack using ballistic missiles and drones, targeting several camps and units of the armed forces stationed in the Marib and Hadhramaut governorates.
The ministry clarified that the cowardly assault targeted members of the armed forces as they performed their national duty in securing liberated areas and international routes, and in confronting the militia's schemes and its smuggling networks.
It indicated that the attack resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several members of the armed forces stationed at these sites, all of whom are Yemeni citizens from various governorates of the republic. This incident underscores the Houthi militia's continued disregard for Yemeni lives without distinction.
The ministry emphasized that this treacherous attack will not diminish the resolve of the armed forces personnel or affect their ability to perform their national duties. Instead, it will strengthen their steadfastness, cohesion, and determination to defend the republic, restore the state, and end the coup.
The Ministry of Defense mourned the martyrs of the armed forces who fell in this terrorist attack, extending its deepest condolences to their families and comrades, and wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded. It affirmed that the blood of the martyrs will not be shed in vain and that their sacrifices will remain a source of strength and determination for the armed forces in the battle to defend the republic and restore the state.
