Elderly Woman Dies, Daughter Injured in Yemen Home Collapse Due to Heavy Rains

An elderly woman has died and her daughter sustained serious injuries after their old house collapsed in the Jabal Habashi district of Taiz governorate due to heavy rainfall.

Local sources reported that an old residential structure in the Bani Khaylah area of Jabal Habashi collapsed on its occupants following intense downpours. The deceased has been identified as Musak Mohammed Jessar, who died at the scene.

The daughter of the deceased suffered severe injuries in the incident and has been transferred for medical treatment. Her condition has been described as critical.

This event occurs amidst ongoing heavy rainfall across several Yemeni governorates. Authorities have issued repeated warnings about the dangers of collapses in old and dilapidated housing, particularly in mountainous regions.
