Child Killed by Houthi Military Exercise Fire in Taiz

A 10-year-old child has died after being struck by a bullet fired during a Houthi military exercise in the Khadir district, east of Taiz province. The incident highlights the dangers posed by military activities conducted near populated areas.

Local sources identified the victim as Majd Walid Abdulbaset Al-Salmi, the son of Sheikh Walid Abdulbaset Al-Salmi. He sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the heart while in the village of Al-Hadi in Wadi Al-Hussein, coinciding with the Houthi militia's military drill in the vicinity.

Initial reports indicate the child suffered a direct hit, resulting in immediate death. The incident has caused widespread grief and resentment among the residents of the area.
