Houthi Militia Intensifies Military Presence in North Taiz, Establishes New Positions

The Houthi militia has significantly increased its military movements and reinforcements in the Sharab Al-Salam district, north of Taiz Governorate, over the past few hours. The group has established new positions and outposts on several hills and elevated areas overlooking residential villages.

Local sources reported that the militia deployed military reinforcements aboard vehicles equipped with medium weaponry. Fighters were subsequently distributed across various strategic points on mountainous elevations and commanding hills overlooking villages and hamlets in the Mokhlif area of the district.

The sources indicated that the largest concentration of Houthi forces was observed in the Bani Aoun villages, where military personnel and equipment were deployed. This buildup occurred concurrently with an expanded presence in the Al-Dabaa village, extending towards the Shabaz Bani Aoun village.

Following the arrival of these reinforcements, the militia reportedly began establishing new checkpoints and constructing military positions on the hills overlooking the area, signaling a strengthened military posture within the district.

These movements are speculated by sources to be a precursor to the establishment of a new military camp in the region, aimed at enhancing the militia's deployment and operational readiness on the northern front of Taiz Governorate.

These reinforcements come at a time when the Houthi militia continues to bolster its positions on various battlefronts. This activity coincides with escalating threats directed at international shipping in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab strait, amidst growing concerns over widening military tensions in the country.
