Sheikh Al-Hazmi Sets Deadline for Houthi Surrender of Woman and Property

Sheikh Hamad bin Rashid bin Fadgham Al-Hazmi has declared that his primary objective is the release of Mira Saddam Hussein, who he claims has sought his assistance. He characterized the matter as one of honor and a purely tribal issue, emphasizing its non-political nature and detachment from the ongoing conflict in Yemen.

Al-Hazmi stressed that his demands are specifically for the handover of Mira Saddam Hussein, referred to as "Rubai'tah," to the Al-Rayan gathering area, which is situated in government-controlled territories. He also insisted on the return of all her possessions and rights.

The Sheikh reiterated his warnings regarding what he described as the Houthi militia's attempts to erase tribal identity and disrespect tribal leaders and members in areas under their control. He views these actions as a direct threat to deeply entrenched tribal customs and traditions.

Al-Hazmi indicated that failure to meet the demand for Mira Saddam Hussein's surrender in the coming days could lead to tribal escalation. He further stated that the issue would then transform into a "battle of honor" between the tribes of Al-Matrah and the Houthi militia.
