Joint Forces Foil Houthi Attacks in Dhale, Inflict Heavy Casualties

Joint forces have thwarted significant Houthi infiltration attempts in the northwestern fronts of Dhale province, resulting in the deaths, injuries, and capture of dozens of militants, including two field commanders.

Military sources reported that over 20 Houthi militants were killed and others wounded, while seven were captured during intense confrontations that erupted in the fronts following the group's attempted advances towards Joint Forces positions. The attacks, which commenced late Wednesday and continued into the early hours of Thursday, targeted multiple axes in the Al-Fakhir, Al-Jub, Hajar, and Al-Thawkab fronts west of the Qa'tabah district.

The clashes, involving a range of weaponry, ultimately resulted in the repulsion of the Houthi advances and inflicted substantial human and material losses on the attackers. Preliminary reports indicate that more than 20 Houthi fighters, including two field commanders, were killed, with an additional number sustaining injuries. Seven combatants were also taken prisoner during the engagements.

Sources further indicated that the Houthi militia transported a number of their casualties towards Ibb province. However, they were reportedly unable to recover the bodies of several deceased militants from the clash sites in the Al-Thawkab area. The Houthi forces continued to shell the region with mortar fire in an apparent effort to facilitate the retrieval of their dead.

During the confrontations, four members of the Joint Forces were martyred and others were wounded. They have been transferred to a hospital in Dhale province for medical treatment. In response to the ongoing hostilities, the Joint Forces have deployed military reinforcements from several brigades stationed in Dhale province to bolster units positioned on the front lines and enhance their capacity to counter any future assaults.
